Stability estimates for an inverse problem for the Schrödinger equation at negative energy in two dimensions

چکیده
We study the inverse problem of determining a real-valued potential in the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation at negative energy from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. It is known that the problem is ill-posed and a stability estimate of logarithmic type holds. In this paper we prove three new stability estimates. The main feature of the rst one is that the stability increases exponentially with respect to the smoothness of the potential, in a sense to be made precise. The others show how the rst estimate depends on the energy, for low and high energies (in modulus). In particular it is found that for high energies the stability estimate changes, in some sense, from logarithmic type to Lipschitz type: in this sense the ill-posedness of the problem decreases when increasing the energy (in modulus).

Parameter determination in a parabolic inverse problem in general dimensions
It is well known that the parabolic partial differential equations in two or more space dimensions with overspecified boundary data, feature in the mathematical modeling of many phenomena. In this article, an inverse problem of determining an unknown time-dependent source term of a parabolic equation in general dimensions is considered. Employing some transformations, we change the inverse prob...
متن کاملOptimal order finite element approximation for a hyperbolic integro-differential equation
Semidiscrete finite element approximation of a hyperbolic type integro-differential equation is studied. The model problem is treated as the wave equation which is perturbed with a memory term. Stability estimates are obtained for a slightly more general problem. These, based on energy method, are used to prove optimal order a priori error estimates.
متن کاملA Holder-logarithmic stability estimate for an inverse problem in two dimensions
Abstract. The problem of the recovery of a real-valued potential in the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation at positive energy from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map is considered. It is know that this problem is severely ill-posed and the reconstruction of the potential is only logarithmic stable in general. In this paper a new stability estimate is proved, which is explicitly dependent on the reg...
متن کاملThe stability of the solution of an inverse spectral problem with a singularity
This paper deals with the singular Sturm-Liouville expressions $ ell y = -y''+q(x)y=lambda y $ on a finite interval, where the potential function $q$ is real and has a singularity inside the interval. Using the asymptotic estimates of a spectral fundamental system of solutions of Sturm-Liouville equation, the asymptotic form of the solution of the equation (0.1) and the ...

The main purpose of this study is to estimate the step heat fluxes applied to the wall of a two-dimensional symmetric channel with turbulent flow. For inverse analysis, conjugate gradient method with adjoint problem is used. In order to calculate the flow field, two equation model is used. In this study, adjoint problem is developed to conduct an inverse analysis of heat transfer in a channel...
